Updates on the Regulation on Cosmetic Safety Standards in South Korea

On 2nd August, the Food and Safety Ministry in South Korea has opened a consultation period on a draft amendment to the regulation of cosmetics. The amendment proposes updates on banned and “allowed with restrictions” substances. In particular:

Nonoxynol-9 will have an allowed limit of 17.2%

Butylphenyl methylpropional will have an allowed limit of 0.14%
