Late January 2016, the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has released a draft document on the Health Effects of Occupational Exposure to Silver Nanomaterial. This document contains a literature review as well as recommendations for the safe handling of silver nanoparticles and research needs to fill in data gaps and is now open for comments with a deadline on 21 March 2016.

On behalf of its Members, NIA is putting together a coordinated response to the European Commission consultation on the regulatory fitness check of chemicals legislation (excluding REACH)

On 21 July 2016, the European Commission Directorate-General for the Environment hosted a workshop in Brussels to advance the Third Regulatory Review on Nanomaterials. The draft document is now open for comments

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and Health Canada (HC) run a new consultation on a Proposed prioritization approach for nanoscale forms of substances on the Domestic Substances List (DSL) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA)

Through its participation to the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC), NIA is able to provide comments to key OECD documents.

Prepared by the German delegation, and part of the OECD Working Group of the National Coordinators of the Test Guidelines (WNT) expert group on the environmental fate of nanomaterials, the draft OECD draft new test guideline on agglomeration of nanomaterials in aquatic media is now open for comments.
