Registered NIA Members are invited to suggest contributions to a conference on ‘Potential Environmental Benefits of Nanotechnology: Fostering Safe Innovation-Led Growth’, organised by the OECD Working Parties on Nanotechnology (WPN) and on Manufactured Nanomaterials (WPMN) Conference (to be held on the 15th - 17th July in Paris).

Through the NIA’s Membership of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC), registered NIA Members can contribute to the OECD Conference in a number of ways (subject to approval and nomination through by BIAC):
 
Call for Business Speakers and Participants

Dear colleagues,

The OECD Working Party on Nanotechnology (WPN) and Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials (WPMN) are co-organising the above mentioned conference to be held 15-17 July 2009 in Paris. A steering committee was thus set up, in which BIAC plays an active role, to plan and organise the event.

  • If you are interested in participating as a speaker in one of the sessions or panels as indicated in the attached draft programme, please contact the NIA via e-mail (steffi.friedrichs@nanotechia.orgby 20th April 2009. Please also inform us in case you would be interested in helping to sponsor a session.
  • BIAC is also invited to offer specific comments on the text in the draft programme. If you have any comments, please send your tracked changes to the NIA via e-mail (steffi.friedrichs@nanotechia.orgby 14th April 2009.

Please note that the parallel sessions will be run in sets of three (i.e. three session will occur in parallel) and that the topics listed in the programme are proposed options. Not all will take place, so this is an opportunity for you to provide direction to the event.

An official invitation to participate will be sent out in due course, but in the meantime we welcome your expressions of interest for the event.
