UK Trade & Investment, the international business development agency of the British Government, is hosting a Nanotechnology in Energy Trade Mission in Houston, which includes two internationally renowned trade shows – NanoTech Conference 2009 (NSTI) and the Offshore Technology Show (OTC)

This is the first time that these two conferences will occur in the same city, offering the unique opportunity for UK companies and institutions.

What services are included?
Participating companies will be able to attend all UKTI events and will be registered for the OTC Expo and the Nanotech Expo at no charge.

As part of this Mission, UKTI will be hosting a business briefing breakfast "Nanotechnology Applications in Oil & Gas". Scheduled for Wednesday, 6 May from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m., this panel will feature UK and US companies and institutions involved in nanotechnology that has applications within the Oil & Gas sector.

UKTI is also organizing a nanotech reception on Thursday evening, 7 May, at the Richard E. Smalley Institute Nano Scale Science and Technology, which is located at Rice University.

Which arrangements & costs need to be covered by the participating companies?
Companies need to cover their own travel and hotel costs; UKTI has negotiated a competitive rate, considering there are two conferences in town, of $299/night + 17% occupancy tax at the Marriott West Loop, located at 1750 West Loop South, Houston, TX 77027, (tel) +1.713.960.0111. The hotel is located in the Galleria where the missioners will have access to an abundance of restaurants and shopping.
