ECHA convened the 22nd meeting of its Nanomaterials Expert Group (NMEG-22) on November 12–13, 2025, as a two-day online session. The meeting brought together Member State authorities, Commission services, OECD representatives, and invited experts for updates on ongoing REACH processes involving nanoforms and discussion of strategic regulatory topics.
The session included updates on ECHA's latest nanomaterial-related activities and presentations from OECD representatives on the status of Test Guidelines and Guidance Documents relevant to nanomaterials. NIA members Zeon and INL delivered a scientific presentation titled "Breaking Down the Unbreakable: Photo-Fenton Degradation of Carbon Nanotubes," highlighting advances in understanding carbon nanotube degradation pathways with direct implications for life-cycle assessment and environmental fate.
A detailed report from the meeting is available to NIA members. Contact blanca.suarez@nanotechia.org for access.
