The NIA recently attended the IndTech 2024 Conference. Organised under the Belgian Presidency of the European Commission, IndTech brought together industry, researchers and policymakers to look at the current technological challenges that faced Europe. Alongside NIA member BNN, the NIA co-organised the EU NanoSafety Cluster’s (NSC) booth at the show which promoted over 20 of the NSC’s funded projects, including two of the projects that the NIA participates in, iCare and nanoPASS.
The event saw discussions around the role that advanced materials, including nanomaterials, will play in Europe and how the European Commission will be supporting this sector, both in terms of funding, but also in terms of future policy making in areas such as sustainability and raw materials. The event was a good opportunity for the NIA to catch-up with some of our members who also attended, policymakers from the European Commission and potential new contacts from across Europe.
