The European Commission has released a study on the identification of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the industrial transition towards the production of safe and sustainable chemicals. Commissioned by DG GROW, the study supports the implementation of the sustainability roadmap set out in the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) and related to the broader EU sustainability agenda of the Green Deal.
The very commitment to developing KPIs to monitor progress towards those goals is part of the CSS, as it will be key to identifying whether objectives are being achieved, the rate of progress, and whether any further actions are required.
