Following its first stakeholder meeting on safe- and sustainable-by-design (SSbD), the European Commission has launched a stakeholder consultation to complement the findings of the mapping study it released in April. The consultation, which is open until June 30, will inform the development of SSbD criteria for the chemicals sector.
This work is implemented in the broader context of the implementation of the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability; to further support it the Commission has also created a High-level Roundtable including academia, industry, and civil society representatives. The group held its first meeting on May 5, and the report of the discussion can be found at this link.
