Last week, ECHA Risk Assessment Committee, adopted by written procedure its previous draft for harmonised classification and labelling of Titanium Dioxide, which has previously not been included in Annex VI to the CLP Regulation. At its previous meeting, RAC did not agree to the proposal from France to classify the substance in category 1B (presumed to have carcinogenic potential for humans), but agreed to classify it as category 2 (suspected human carcinogen Carc. 2; H350 (inhalation)). This classification is not by the oral or dermal routes, but only applicable for inhalation.
NIA previously reported on this item folloinwg the previous RAC meeting.
