In 2012, the European Commission released a proposal for a European Regulation on Medical Devices 2012/0266 (COD) which addresses nanomaterials and their use in Medical Devices. Since then, the European Parliament has made amendments to the proposed Regulation but the third legislative body of the EU, the Council of the European Union, has not yet presented its view.
