The Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) is delighted to welcome ZEON Corporation to its growing global community.  ZEON, headquartered in Japan, with 58 operations world-wide, is a speciality materials producer including single wall carbon nanotubes (CNT).  Following the emergence of CNT technologies from Japan, ZEON became the world’s first producer of ‘super growth’ produced CNTs in 2015 and works across sectors with high purity and surface area CNTs.

As a Member of NIA, ZEON will bring its expertise and experience into NIA activities to help develop a safe and sustainable market for commercial nanomaterials, addressing regulatory and policy frameworks for globally successful materials.

Mr Kohei Arakawa, Executive Technical Supervisor and at Zeon Corporation and President of Zeon Nanotechnology Co., Ltd. said “We would like to express our deep gratitude for your genial welcome to NIA network.  We hope our participation builds a new era of cooperation and communication between Japanese and European nanotechnology firms. This new bridge would facilitate innovation creation in both economies. EU policy has a significant impact on the global supply chain. We also would like to contribute to the policymaking process in EU and its global harmonization through the networking activity of NIA”

Dr Claire Skentelbery, Director General at NIA commented “ZEON brings an excellent insight into the development of next generation CNTs, with high safety profiles and transparent data around materials use throughout the value chain. This helps NIA to support companies of all sizes to create successful products at the nanoscale and enabling policy makers and regulators to develop industry frameworks for long term safe and effective materials”.
