Cefas (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) kicked off a comprehensive nanomaterial survey under the Offshore Chemical Notification Scheme (OCNS), working alongside the Dutch State Supervision of Mines (SSM).
The survey went live on June 10, with offshore chemical suppliers having until August 5 to submit their responses. Anyone who registers products under OCNS and has identified nanomaterial content needs to participate.
This effort tackles regulatory gaps by gathering detailed physicochemical data on nanomaterials used in offshore oil and gas operations, supporting the North-East Atlantic Environment Strategy through 2030.
