The Food and Drug Administration of Thailand has published two notices regarding TiO2 use in cosmetic products, in particular relating to labelling. The notices dealt with the use of TiO2 with ≤ 10 μm aerodynamic diameter in a concentration equal or higher than 1% in fine powders. Labelling requirements will apply to consumer products for this type of TiO2 to face and dusting powders and hair products in aerosol spray form. A separate notice covers labelling requirements for sunscreen products containing TiO2 in regular or nano form, it also states that sunscreen products must include a warning on their labels stating that using the product is just one way to protect from sun damage.
