NIA Director General Dr Claire Skentelbery is one of the speakers at a workshop on Technology Transfer in Nanotechnology: Challenges and Opportunities being arranged by the JRC and National Research Council in Lecce, Italy on 18 and 19 October as part of the TTO-CIRCLE initiative. The event will bring together different stakeholders including industry, policy makers, technology transfer officers and financial intermediaries to explore how technology transfer activities in nanotechnology can help EU industry.

Dr Skentelbery is part of a roundtable on the challenges, barriers and opportunities for industry, along with representatives from the European Commission and key industry players. One of the main objectives of the workshop is to discuss how industrial policy at all levels can be used to help accelerate the adoption of nanotechnology by the EU manufacturing industries. The NIA is happy to support this initiative and to discuss how it supports its members in producing new innovations in nanotechnology that play an important role in social and economic development.
