The European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) launched a revision of its Stakeholder Discussion Group on Emerging Risk (StaDG-ER) for the period up to 2026. EFSA decided to renew the group membership in order to ensure a balanced representation of different views, as well as to better align with its updated Stakeholder Engagement Approach (SEA), through which the Agency engages with stakeholders on technical issues.

After the conclusion of the selection process, EFSA announced that a total of 26 stakeholders, including NIA, had been chosen to join the StaDG-ER. Selected stakeholders come from associations, the food industry, farmers, food distributors, and consumer associations/NGOs.

The StaDG-ER will hold its first meeting in the coming months. NIA members will be informed of the agenda for the discussion, and have the opportunity to raise questions.
