Together with EU Member States, ECHA has been assessing the regulatory needs of groups of substances with the goal to accelerate regulatory action on chemicals of concern, while trying to avoid regrettable substitutions.

The first assessments cover more than 450 substances in 19 groups, for 18 of which the need of regulatory risk management measures or further data was identified. Among these are four groups of phthalates and phthalates-like substances, as well as pyrazole moiety and a group of other eight structurally similar substances. The complete list is available at this link.

Registrants of the relevant substances are encouraged to start preparing by updating their dossiers and assessing the impact of the proposed measures. Further information on the grouping approach will be made available by ECHA via a pre-recorded webinar, available as of December 14 at this link.
