The European Commission has opened a call for evidence to feed into the development of its initiative to improve access to chemicals data.

Building on the principle that data should be easy to find, share, and reuse, the initiative aims at simplifying access to and use of available data on chemicals. It would also enable the EU and Member States' authorities to commission testing and monitoring of chemicals substances, where necessary.

The call for evidence will be open until August 16; the resulting legislative proposal (a draft Regulation) will be published indicatively in Q1 2023 for stakeholder feedback.
