Call for Evidence on the European Cosmetic Product Regulation Open Until 21 March

The revision of the EU Cosmetic Product Regulation officially began on 21 February with the launch of a call for evidence, open until 21 March. This will be followed by a 12-week consultation period in the second quarter of 2025, with final adoption expected in the second quarter of 2026.

The revision aims to ensure that the regulation continues to protect consumer health by maintaining strict safety requirements for cosmetics before they enter the market while also supporting the internal market's functioning. Key areas of focus include safety assessments for certain chemicals, including nanomaterials, as well as sustainable business models and the regulation’s alignment with other EU frameworks such as REACH and CLP.
