The European Commission is currently consulting on the Advanced Materials Act which is planned for 2026. This legislation will be crucial in setting Europe’s strategy on nano and advanced materials over the next few years and it is important that as a sector we inform the Commission of our needs and outline the areas we think should be covered by the Act.
The NIA has briefed its members on the call for evidence to help them prepare their own responses. We will also be submitting a response on behalf of the NIA and the nano sector to ensure that nanotechnology remains central to the European advanced materials agenda.
We would encourage everyone to consider submitting a response to the call for evidence to ensure that the future European advanced materials strategy is beneficial for nanotechnology.
