The EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability includes the objective of developing criteria on safe- and sustainable-by-design to support the shift towards inherently safe and sustainable chemicals, materials and products, throughout the entire life cycle. As part of the process, the Commission organized a stakeholder workshop in March 2021 to illustrate its intended approach and to gather initial feedback. The NIA has prepared a member-only summary of the workshop, including the presentations delivered and the content of the open discussion.
