Cefic, NIA and Eurometaux hosted a 2 hour webinar with ECHA and the European Commission with a focus on latest updates and Q&A regarding the REACH Annex Amendments which came into force on January 1, 2020. Over 100 participants attended from the three associations and this meeting is hoped to be the first of regular interactive meetings with the EC and ECHA as nanoform dossier updates are implemented by industry.

The agenda included:

  1. Introduction from Cefic: SLIDES (include questions in point 5)
  2. Reflections from the European Commission SLIDES
  3. ECHA summary of experiences (no slides)
  4. Nanoforms set casestudy from Solvay SLIDES
  5. Questions previously submitted to Cefic

ECHA contributed throughout the 2 hour webinar and full Q&A will be available in written form shortly.  NIA Member Solvay provided an excellent case study of its experience in developing nanoform sets, with questions concerning confidentiality of nanoform data as a co-applicant, impact of rejection of of a single set on complete application, potential impact of having to opt out of joint applications and justification of data to ECHA.

25 questions were submitted to the webinar, in addition to the questions formally submitted to Cefic before the meeting. NIA, Cefic and Eurometaux will work in building a centralised set of Q&A, with ECHA written comment, extending the Q&A compiled for NIA Members following the previous ECHA webinar here.
