Blanca Serrano (CEFIC): introducing the complications of the future restrictions regarding microplastics. She focused on the different items of the definition and showed a case study where it was impossible to tell apart an item which had microplastics from an item which did not.

Jan Robinson AICE/DUCC 

She presented the results of the REF6 project where they found that 17% of mixtures in the market had incorrect classification based on their own SDS. The problem mainly spans from the issue that SDS report ranges in components of mixtures. Depending on which end of the range is pick up, the product may fall into a different hazard category. They proposed new wording for REACH Annex II and  GHS Annex IV to solve this issue but it was not well accepted by the forum.

ACEA European Automobile manufacturers association 

They brought in several issues; POP regulation and PFOA amendment which is not even clear among member states and is causing plenty of discussion, formaldehyde restrictions, car components produced by third parties and entering the car in the after-market phase. quality of SDS and SCIP database and delays in launching this by the commission.

Pelle Moos (BEUC)

He presented the results of a study on illegal products sold on online market-places. They found several products including toys, cosmetics, electronics... which fail the EU safety regulations. Several contained illegal amounts of chemicals. Generally the online platforms removed the products once notified but the products came back after 3-6 months.
