Germany's Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) has published an english version of the Technical Rule for Hazardous Substance (TRGS) 527 'Activities with Nanomaterials'. The TRGS address technology, occupational safety and health, and occupational hygiene, with the Committee on Hazardous Substances (AGS) establishing the rules and adaptations to current state of development.
The TRG 'Activities with Nanomaterials' references nanoforms as defined in REACH and does not include natural or incidental materials. The 30 page document includes:
- Scope of Application
- Definition of terms
- Identification of risks
- Risk assessment
- Protective measures
- Effectiveness testing
- Working instructions and provision of information to employees, documentation
