After a year of preliminary joint research, NIA member IMEC has signed a cooperation agreement with pharmaceutical company GSK to explore how nanotechnology can accelerate the development and production of vaccines. Nanotechnology will also be used to automate the relevant production processes.

The collaboration will be articulated in different activities, selected during the GSK Makeathon workshops which brought together experts from both organizations to identify challenges and potential solutions in vaccine development and bio-pharma manufacturing processes.
