Well-being through work

The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) is a research and specialist institute on occupational health and safety. We strive to anticipate work life needs, highlight new issues and offer solutions to develop health, safety and wellbeing at work.

The permanent staff amounts to 600 persons and the whole personnel to 800 at the central institute in Helsinki and regional network. The Institute acts as a specialist institute of the World Health Organization and the International Labour Office in the field of occupational health.

FIOH introduces initiatives for improving the workability, health and quality of life of the working population. The Institute isable to guarantee wide-ranging studies through the multidisciplinary research. The Institute set up a Nanosafety Research Centre at the beginning of 2011 aiming at producing scientific innovations for nanosafety.
