The European Commission's Scientific Committee on Emerging Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has launched a public consultation on the Preliminary opinion ‘Guidance on the Determination of Potential Health Effects of Nanomaterials Used in Medical Devices’.
Developed for the use of risk assessors, this draft Guidance provides information on how to perform the risk assessment of nanomaterial-containing medical devices. The draft document currently recommends a ‘phased approach’ based on ’potential release and characteristics of the nanomaterials’.
NIA Members are invited to provide comments to this document by 29 September 2014. Please follow this link to download the Preliminary opinion Guidance on the Determination of Potential Health Effects of Nanomaterials Used in Medical Devices.
