ECHA launched, on 24 February 2017 a consultation for Competent Authorities for REACH and CLP (CARACAL) and the European Commission for a draft update of the Appendices to Chapters R.7a  and R7.c of the Guidance on IR&CSA (Endpoint specific guidance) on “recommendations for nanomaterials” regarding human health endpoints.

Stakeholders, including industry has previously provided comments to an earlier draft, and the comments provided at that time are also published by ECHA. 

The consultation closes on Friday 24 March. Any NIA Members wishing to comment, should send comments to later than Wednesday 22 March to David Carlander

ECHA has provided a document with an invitation to comment as well as an explanatory note which outlines the main changes to the two appendices. 

The two appendices that are being updated are the following:

Appendix R7-1 Recommendations for nanomaterials applicable to Chapter R7a Endpoint specific guidance
Appendix R7-2 Recommendations for nanomaterials applicable to Chapter R7c Endpoint specific guidance

In addition to the Appendices themselves, separate templates (XL) files to be used for providing comments are available, as well as the all the comments made during the PEG consultations.
