Join NIA for the first in a new webinar series ‘Nano in Action’, focussing on the textiles sector.

This open webinar will include:

  • - End users of nanomaterials within the textiles sector
  • - NIA Members producing nanomaterials for textiles
  • - Regulatory insight into nanomaterials for textiles

The webinar is open to all interested attendees for the presentations, followed by a closed Q&A and discussion session for Members only.

Speakers:

Matthew Tipper, Non-wovens Innovation & Research Institute Ltd (NIRI)

NIRI has a track record of bringing new products to market in the field of nonwovens. It has worked on over 400 projects for 200 clients in a range of market sectors including medical, construction, automotive, packaging, geo-synthetics and food and drink. Mathew will discuss how functionality can be added to non-wovens and present some examples of NIRI’s previous work in this area.

Gregor Schneider, RAS Materials

NIA Member RAS Materials will present the company’s cooperation with Vileda Freudenberg to incorporate its silver nanoparticles into professional cleaning textiles. Business and science drivers for the use of nanomaterials to add functionality and value to the end product will also be demonstrated.

David Carlander, Nanotechnology Industries Association

As the NIA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs, David will highlight some of the regulatory issues that may arise in the field of textiles. He will also present some other examples of how nanomaterials have been used in the textile market to add functionality and value.
